The File Menu

New Program offers six blank pages for programming.

Open Program reads a program from disk.

Save Program saves the current program and I/O settings to disk.

Print sends the program to the printer. Choices of printer and Fax settings are also available.

Export to text file sends a copy of the program and settings to a standard ASCII text file.

Send to T6* sends a copy of the program and settings to a T6 MCU.   Send a copy of the Timer or Counter data to a CIM -03.

Read from T6* reads a copy of the program and settings from a T6 MCU.   Read a copy of the Timer or Counter data to a CIM -03.

Run Program* instructs MCU to execute the program.

  * These options are only available if PC is connected to a T6 MCU or a CIM - 03.   If connected to a pocket programmer, these commands are located on its Main Menu.

Print Program

Current Printer select from the available printers.

Pages to Print select which pages that you what to be printed.

Page Margin Settings set the top and left margins for the printed page.

Number of Lines sets the number of lines printed each page. This is the number of lines printed, not the number lines in the program.

The Page Menu

Select which page you want to be displayed. Many machine applications do not require more than just Page A.

Note: Only Page A is operational when power is applied to the T6. All other pages begin in a frozen state. Page A may "Thaw" other pages into operation. It will also continue to operate unless a page "Freezes" it. Pages can also be programmed to Freeze themselves. Use caution when allowing more than one page to be operating at the same time.

Connect to T6 instructs the PC to communicate with a T6 MCU or Pocket Programmer.

Change Comm Port changes the serial port used to connect to a T6.

Reset Comm Port resets the connection to a T6 especially after changing the comm port speed.

Change Comm Port

Select a serial port that is connected to the T6.

Select the speed setting for the port.
Use Low speed if you are experiencing errors, such a lock-up while  sending or receiving programs.  Low speed may cause the MCU to take a little longer to execute some instructions while running. In most cases this will not be noticed.

Port speed setting only operates when connected to an MCU with
a direct cable connection (such as MCU-03).  If using a Computer Interface Module (such as CIM-02), low speed is used regardless of this setting.

Change I/O Modules

To Add an I/O section
Check the 'block Installed' box for the Block number of the section  you have added.

Select the number of inputs and outputs for the section.

Select the analog or digital option for blocks 10, 80, and 90.

To Remove an I/O section
Uncheck the 'Block Installed' checkbox for the section.

Advanced I/O settings
Right click on the I/O section number (MCU, 10,20, etc.)  If the I/O section is installed, additional settings will appear

   Name Inputs and Outputs
Assign names to inputs and outputs

   Set Input Speed
Adjusts the dwell time of an input.

Name Inputs and Outputs

Up to eight characters can be used to replace the default input / output number.

The name will appear inplace of the number when making a selection of inputs or outputs.

The name will also appear instead of the number, when viewing or printing the program.

If the "print settup data" block is selected from the print menu, the name assinment information will be printed.

Change Input Speed

All inputs in the T6 system have a recognition speed that is user adjustable. This is  the amount of time an input must dwell before the T6 considers the input's status to be valid. The range of adjustment is from 0 (no delay) to 255 milliseconds (2.55 seconds). The factory setting is 10ms, which is moderatly fast, yet slow enough to filter out most mechanical "switch contact bounce".

Setting the time longer will increase the delay in responding to the input and increases its noise immunity.

Setting the time shorter will cause a quicker responce to the input, but may decrease its immunity to noise and contact bounce.

Change BIOS Registers

Warning: It is strongly recommended that the user not make any changes to BIOS registers without guidence from a Trol Systems customer support engineer.

The BIOS contains all settup information that is adjustable by the user, such as added I/O and input speeds. It also contains information and settings loaded by the factory.

Use the slide pointer to select one of the 125 BIOS registers. Each register has four sections: A to D. Each section contains data of a specific type.
