Pneumatic Swing Clamps
 Manufactured by Fabco-Air
Swing Clamp Cylinder

Double acting operation and standard magnetic piston offer
positive cycles, durability and workpiece detection features.
Extruded aluminum body mounts directly and rigidly to
equipment surfaces in a minimum of space.
Sensors sold separately.
Operation cycle:

1) Clamp arm extends (straight line) as it releases
    work piece from clamp loads.
2) Arm rotates 90° to full extend position.
3) When retracting, clamp arm swings 90°.
Model Code R = clockwise rotation,
Model Code L = counterclockwise rotation.
4) With clamp arm in position over the work piece, it
follows a straight line path to apply clamping force

Manufactured by Numatics

The EC Series Swing Clamps combine linear and rotary motions. A specially machined spline internal to the piston rod develops the combined motions. When the clamp is pressurized to extend, it moves linear, removing the clamp tooling from the clamped surface as not to damage the clamped surface. After completing the linear travel, rotation occurs swinging the clamp arm away from the work holding area. During clamping the opposite motions occur.

Features

  • Body: High strength harcoat aluminum.
  • Rods: Ground aluminum, hardcoat anodized, Teflon® impregnated non-rotating.
  • Retract Stop Adjustment: Two adjustment screws allow flexibility to adjust the retract stroke on both rods independently.
  • Bronze Bushings: High side load capabilities, self lubricating, long life.
  • Sensing: Hall effect sensors available to sense extend and retract positions.
